England's loss after a century of warfare in France pushes the island into unrest and ultimately into the dynastic struggle known as the War of the Roses. While the royal houses of Lancaster and York start as the primary competitors opportunistic factions see the possibilities of gaining power, and perhaps the Crown. In the end a new house would come to rule the land. Players in Crown of Roses compete to recruit retainers, armies, and the Offices of England in what became a thirty year conflict. Players compete to maintain the dominance the longest and perhaps to secure a new monarchy.
